About
Tawny & Bird specializes in creating long-lasting, fitted performance and workout wear for pole and aerial artists.
All of my pieces are handmade with love in Phoenix, Arizona with a preference towards using donated, secondhand or recycled fabrics.
My items are designed to be base pieces, perfect for birdies like you to embellish and customize as you wish. Occassionally, I release custom-made pieces and upcycled items found in costume closets and thrift stores.
How it Hatched
Behind Tawny & Bird is me, Tawnya, a Phoenix-based aerialist with a decade’s worth of experience spanning pole, lyra and sling. I am the founder and owner of Elevated Aerials, an aerial entertainment company, and have performed for numerous corporate events, creative shows and talent competitions throughout the years.
I began sewing as way to create performance wear that could meet the unique needs of an aerialist. Through trial and error, and a whole lot of patience, I taught myself this timeless skill. Soon, friends began asking for pieces of their very own. I was happy to have the practice and enjoyed making pieces from the heart. One day, while looking at my enormous stash of fabrics, I hatched a plan to turn my hobby into a tiny business, and Tawny & Bird was born.

Tawny and Bird features a rotating offering of customizable styles in which you choose an available fabric, and the item is handmade for your. Orders are processed and created within 20 to 25 days after order (excluding weekends and holidays).
Ready to Ship
These items are already created and ready to go! See something you like? Snatch it! These are limited so you probably won't see them again. All ready to ship orders are processed within 2 business days after order (excluding weekends and holidays).

SHIPPING
Made-to-order items are processed and created within 20 to 25 days after receiving your order payment (excluding weekends and holidays). You will receive another notification when your order has shipped.
All ready to ship orders are processed within 2 business days after receiving your order payment (excluding weekends and holidays). You will receive another notification when your order has shipped.
All items are shipped through the United States Postal Service via Priority Mail at the flat rate of $10.40 - $18.40 (depending on the size of your order). If you would like your item shipped through expedited service, please contact me at tawnyandbird@gmail.com for an estimate PRIOR to placing your order.
I am only shipping to the United States at this time.
LOCAL PICKUP
If you are located in the metro Phoenix, AZ area, you have the option of picking your order up at no additional cost. You will receive a notification when your order is complete and ready for pickup. Then we will coordinate a pickup time that works for both of us.
CHECKING THE STATUS OF YOUR ORDER
When your order has shipped, you will receive an email notification from me which will include a tracking number you can use to check its status. Please allow 48 hours for the tracking information to become available.
If you haven’t received your order within 10 days of receiving your shipping confirmation email, please contact me at tawnyandbird@gmail.com with your name and order number, and I will look into it for you.
RETURNS & EXCHANGES
Returns & exchanges are gladly accepted on all apparel items. Headbands and other small accessories are final sale.
I have a 10-day return policy, which means you have 10 days after receiving your item to request a return. To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.
To start a return, you can contact me at tawnyandbird@gmail.com. If your return is accepted, I'll send instructions on how and where to send your package. You are responsible for all return shipping costs.
DAMAGES & ISSUES
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact me immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that I can evaluate the issue and make it right.
EXCEPTIONS AND NON-RETURNABLES
Certain types of items cannot be returned, like made-to-measure garments and small accessories. Please get in touch if you have questions or concerns about your specific item. Unfortunately, I cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.
EXCHANGES
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.
REFUNDS
I will notify you once I've received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
